What's Happening...

 2010

 

  • Australia Day Holiday weekend. This year Australia Day, January 26th, is a Tuesday however the weekend for most will be from Saturday 23rd till Monday 25th .  A great opportunity to take advantage of the summer months to try their luck at Kyalite. Book your accommodation early.

 

  • March 6th until 8th. Victorian Labour Day Weekend.  It is also the weekend of the Annual Kyalite Pub Fish release.  The Kyalite pub’s Fishing Club AGM is also this weekend. A comp on Saturday and members will be releasing fish on Sunday.

 

  • Its all action for the month of April.  EASTER is early this year. Friday 2nd is Good Friday through until Tuesday 6th.  Once again the pub will be running their Hospital Charity Fund Raisers. Friday Afternoon is a great family day with plenty of Easter Eggs, Chocolates, Fish and Seafood to be won.  As normal this is sponsored by The Kyalite Pub Social Club and all funds raised go to the local Balranald Hospital and the Melbourne Royal Children’s.  

 

  • ANZAC DAY is Sunday 25th.  Ken’s wall calendar says Monday 27th is a public Holiday. A great opportunity to relax at Kyalite and pay your respects. The Dawn service at Kyalite is getting a bigger attendance every year. The memorial site overlooking the Wakool River is an experience that should not be missed.

 

  • Go pies!

 

  • May.   The last balmy days of summer. An ideal time to enjoy the Kyalite Forests. Beautiful days and clear nights designed for words of wisdom around the fire. Keep watch on the river report – those crays can start moving anytime.

 

  • June.  Winter is with us. Queens Birthday Weekend from 12th till 14th ,an ideal time for a break from work.

 

  • July.  The full impact of winter is on us, however the shortest day has been and gone -summer not far away.

 

  • August   Tuesday 31st is your last chance to hunt the Mighty Murray. Book your place at the Kyalite Caravan Park on the last weekend 28th and 29th.

 

  • September 1st. Cod closed season has began. Does it matter? Footy is in full swing and the Mighty Pies are firm favourites for the Flag.  Saturday 25th is GRAND FINAL DAY AT THE PUB. TV’s everywhere, Pub Tipsters will have their day in the Henry.

 

  • October the days are getting longer. The Kyalite Pubs’ Inter-club Fishing Comp is on again.  For invited Clubs only this will be the events 13th year,  It is just a good fun social event. Club members mark Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th on your calander for KYALITE.

 

  • November. That first Tuesday in November THE MELBOURNE CUP. There is always action at Kyalite that weekend –be part of it.

 

  • December   COD OPENING. Wednesday 1st Murray Cod are back on the menu. Most will be on the water the first weekend  4th and 5th.  It is a busy weekend so book your accommodation early. Saturday 11th is “take the bus to Moulamein Races” time. Once again the Pub Social Club will be off to check out the Girls, the Bar and horses at Moulamein.

 

The Races really are the start of the Party season. Christmas Day is Saturday 25th.
