The Kyalite Pub is a small pub with a big reputation.

NEVER A DULL MOMENT AT KYALITE.

**  January 26th  AUSTRALIA DAY.  This year IT is midweek (Wednesday).  If you are on the rivers at Kyalite drop into the Barby Shed.   The Pub Social Club is having a couple quiet coldies,  call in and say G’Day. The Hot Plate will be a goer as well.

**  FEBRUARY.  Its back to school for many.  If you are looking for a quiet life this is a great time to visit Kyalite. Not many on the reserves so get your favourite camp site and kick back. (Darwin bombed 19/2/1942)

**   Saturday March 12th to Monday 14th is the Victorian Labour Day Weekend. Can you think of a better place to chill out other than the Kyalite River Forest.  Kyalite Happy Hookers.  This is your first official Comp of the year

** APRIL.     ( Daylight Savings ends Sunday 3rd.) It all happens at the end of the month this year. Friday 22nd is Good Friday and Monday 25th is Easter Monday and ANZAC DAY.  Good Friday and the pub is packed for the traditional Hospital Fund Raisers. With half going local and the rest to the Royal Childrens’  these are fun and as popular as ever.
Kyalites’ Dawn Service has become ‘ a must do before you die’.  Overlooking the Wakool Rivers one gains a positive insight of what so many sacrifices were made for. Before the service it’s the pubs’ shout, followed by breakfast. – everyone is welcome.
After lunch its  GO PIES !!!!!!    Tuesday 26th is ANZAC DAY Holiday

**    MAY   The last days of summer. Wait for those first crackling frosty mornings – the Crays will be on the move. (Battle Of The Coral Sea 4/5/1942)

**   JUNE.   This is the time of the year for the dedicated fishermen. The Queens Birthday Weekend  Friday 11th to Monday 12th.  Beautiful Sunny Days, cold crispy nights round the  fire with your mates, a cask of red. Just what you need to solve the problems of the world.  ( Tuesday 21st Shortest day of The Year)

** JULY   The shortest day of the year has been and gone. Saturday 2nd is the middle of the year. 182 gone – 182 to go!  The days starting to lengthen. Time to get some serious fishing in before……

** AUGUST.    Getting to the business end of the footy. Also the last weekend 27th and 28th before the COD CLOSED SEASON.  Happy Hookers this is comp weekend.

*** SEPTEMBER.   Who cares what the fish are doing. It really is the business end of the footy. The local comps winding up and at AFL level, well…. Who is going to beat THE PIES????

*** OCTOBER     Sunday 2nd  Daylight Savings begins.  The footy is over. Time to get the rods out. Check the tinnie, service the motor SUMMER is on the door step.
Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd  are the dates for the Kyalite Pubs’ 14th Inter-Club Fishing Comp.  ( Battle of El Alamein 23/10/1942)
***  NOVEMBER.    The spring Carnival and the Melbourne Cup. What better place to watch the RACE THAT STOPS THE NATION than the Kyalite Pub.

***  DECEMBER.   The first weekend. Sat 3rd and Sunday 4th Official Cod Opening Once more you can target the Mighty Murray. Happy Hookers this is bring your mate comp.  Sunday 4th is also three weeks to Christmas.   (Victory at El Alam ein 5/11/1942.  Rememberance Day 11/11/1918)
